Barbecue Chips (Or Else) (2023)

Desperate to avoid running in a 5K, a lazy teenager strikes a deal with a rainbow trout in the bathroom of her local convenience store.

This short film was heavily influenced by my experience as an untalented runner on my high school’s cross country team. The project began with a simple memory: a trip to 7-Eleven that took place halfway through practice on a hot August morning, and the ideas spiraled from there. Barbecue Chips (Or Else) was hand drawn in Toon Boom Harmony, with backgrounds painted in Procreate and final touches made in Adobe After Effects. It was selected for the 2023 Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival, Baltimore Showcase.

Freed (2021)

Freed is an exploration of living beneath the weight of feelings such as fear, insecurity, grief, and regret. Although the experience of letting go can be a long and painful process, making space for change can ultimately lead to brighter horizons and a newfound freedom to live. Freed was created using hand-drawn animation in Toon Boom Harmony with final edits made in Adobe After Effects. It was selected for the 2021 Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival, Baltimore Showcase.

Costume Party (2021)

Inspired by the style and humor found in early animation, Costume Party is a conceptual Halloween Special featuring Pumpkinhead and Gourdina as they prepare to go trick-or-treating. This animation was created using handmade paper puppets and props, with frames collected in Stop Motion Studio and final edits made in Adobe Premiere Pro. Costume Party was selected for the 2022 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition at Towson University, for which it was awarded an Art Department Scholarship.
